Submission dates for the 2025/26 issue: November 1 to December 31, 2025.

Submission Guidelines:

To submit: In the subject line of the email include your last name and the genre. 

Include your submissions as attachments with title(s) attached. 

In the body of the email, please include a short biography no more than 40 words with your full name included. If you are not living on the New England College campus, please include your snail mail address.

Writing Submissions: 

Submissions should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spaced in Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf). 

Poetry – Send up to 3 poems in one individual document. Individual poems should be on separate pages. 

• Note–Poems intended to appear single-spaced on the printed page should be submitted in single-space. 

Fiction and Nonfiction – Send up to 2,500 words of fiction or nonfiction, double-spaced. 

Visual Images:  

Submit up to three images in color or black and white. Attached files should be in .jpg format. 

If your work is accepted elsewhere before final editorial decisions are made, please contact us at our email, hreview@nec.edu.

Response Time: 

Usually, editorial decisions are made in February of each calendar year.

Publication Rights: 

We ask for one-time rights to publish your work. Following publication, all rights revert back to the author. 

If you republish your work in another journal, we request you note its previous publication in The Henniker Review.
